New Features

Enhance Your Security with Microsoft Authenticator

Elevate your account security with the power of two-factor Authentication (2FA). This extra layer of protection to the authentication process makes it highly challenging for unauthorized users to gain unauthorized access to your account. With the convenience of the Microsoft Authenticator app, you can effortlessly generate your authentication code, giving you and your team the flexibility to customize security measures to meet your unique needs and preferences.

Digital Portal 

Using Logitude’s built-in and customized web portal module, you can reduce your team’s workload, save time and effort, and provide real-time shipment and invoice information to your customers. It is accessible from both desktops and mobile devices. We are pleased to announce the following new additions in this release:

  • Quotes 

With the Quotes feature enabled in the digital portal, customers can conveniently view quotes, track their status, and download the latest version of the quotation document in PDF format.

Enhanced Features

  • Container Tracking Module

Logitude’s container tracking module automatically receives accurate live data from ocean carriers and generates relevant container data within Logitude, saving you time and eliminating the need to enter data manually. 

  • Prevent Detention and Demurrage/Perdiem 

One of the advantages of using the Container Tracking module is that it addresses the challenges you face with demurrage fees, both for payment and tracking after container returns. We’ve implemented significant enhancements in our container tracking module to assist you in avoiding detention and demurrage charges, benefiting both you and your customers.

o Flexible Free Days: You can manually assign free days at the shipment level, which will apply to all containers in that shipment. These days can be customized for each container, and the system will calculate the final free date automatically.

o Reporting: Standard BI reports that you can share with your customer to communicate expected demurrage durations. And we added two new reports for you, one for export and another for import. These reports are available in the BI workspace one week after the release.

o Automated Email: Prevent extra detention and demurrage costs through customizable automation that sends emails internally or to your customer before exceeding the last free day.

o Satisfied Customers: The digital portal now uses color-coded indicators for detention and demurrage, making it easier for customers to track and act promptly when needed.

User Experience Improvements 

  •       Documents Drag and Drop

You can easily drag and drop documents directly onto the desired document type line within the “Docs” tab, simplifying the process and eliminating the need for extra steps. This feature is available to all customers. To activate this new improvement, please 

  •       Visually Appealing Design: Views Improvements 

We are currently developing a new UX design for Logitude. In this stage, you will notice significant improvements to the Containers’ view, featuring a more visually appealing design. This design allows you to apply filtering based on your specific requirements, manage columns, make selections, and perform deletions as needed.

  •       Multi-Shipment AP Invoice: Shipment Selection Improvements

Introducing the “Add Shipment” feature in AP invoice processing for multiple shipments! Bringing together all the shipments you need into one easy-to-use tool. You can now filter the shipment list to see only those with open payables, making your experience even better. 

With this update, you can enter a single invoice for multiple shipments and easily select the shipments you want from a list.

Tariffs Improvements and Changes 

Exciting news for Business Package subscribers and higher!  Introducing the recent improvements to the Tariffs Module, your gateway to amazing tariff features. Discover all the remarkable upgrades we’ve made to make your experience even better.

  •       Air Cost Tariffs: When getting prices from Agents, you can select them as Sellers for Air Freight/Surcharge tariffs instead of Airlines.
  •       We’ve improved tariff line entry for easy input. Now, an empty line auto-displays, so no more constant clicking. Just press Tab for a new line. Plus, you can sort values by clicking column headers, and choosing ascending or descending order. This feature will be available one week after the release.
  •       Price Check for Inland FTL: Now you can verify prices for all your ‘Inland FTL’ shipments. Giving you the flexibility to access available prices from the shipment, quotes, and tariff sections.
  •       We implemented several enhancements, like introducing (-) and (+) symbols for price steps and adding volume units (CBM, DBF, CBI). We also improved clarity between the default price steps for Air and LCL.

Automatic Quote ‘Subject’ Field Generation

When you create a quote, Logitude will now automatically generate a ‘Subject’ field for you. This ‘Subject’ field smartly combines routing, zip code, and incoterm details. You’ll find this ‘Subject’ field right in the quote header, making it easily searchable and perfect for filtering.  

Change Shipment Transport Mode

Do you ever need to change the transport mode of the shipment from air to sea or vice versa? We added a new option to the “More Action” list, allowing you to choose the most suitable mode for your shipment. Without the need to create an entirely new shipment from scratch.

Automation

Logitude’s innovative Automation Tool was developed to save you time and resources by performing tasks with maximum efficiency. You only need to set up automatic actions based on specific conditions. This means less work and more time to focus on bigger and better things like growing your business and making your customers happy.

  •       Set Field Value Result in AR Invoice/AP Invoices Automation 

We’ve improved AR and AP Invoice automation with the “Set Fields Value” feature. It lets you set rules to update fields with fixed or related values, making invoice management easier.

  •       Shipment and Master Automation

To enhance your automation capabilities, we’ve added new triggers in both the shipment and master automation to allow you to start automation based on the following criteria:

o  From Port Country

o  To Port Country

o  Status

o  VGM Cut-off Date

BI Reports

To enhance your reporting, decision-making, and business analysis, we’re constantly improving the BI Reports Module for better access to Logitude Data Warehouse (DW) data.

The following changes have been made to the BI reports and will go live one week after the release. 

  •       Quote DWH: To enhance your ability to choose report columns and apply data filters in reports created from the Quote fact, we have introduced the following fields:

o   From Port

o   To Port

o   First Acceptance Date

  •       Hide the Columns Defined as ‘Selected Charges’: With ‘Select Charges’, categorize charges, and choose whether to mark a field as hidden or not. As an example, you can choose Account Payables in local currency, only for Air freight charge types, by utilizing this feature.  
  •       Change Labels: This option allows you to customize your reports’ column labels. 
  •       Calculated Fields: You can customize fields in your BI Reports with specific equations and calculate time differences in various units.

Cross-Dock Module 

  •       Manage Contact Per Partner 

Starting now, you can easily handle contacts for the partners in your entry, specifying the relevant individuals within each company for that entry.

  •       Copy Entries 

Skip the hassle of starting from scratch and simplify your workflow with the ‘Copy Entry’ option. This helpful feature lets you duplicate an existing entry and make any necessary updates, saving you time and effort.

Partners Management

  •       Introducing ‘All Partners’ Card View

Previously, you had to search for partners based on their types in different views. Today, it’s much easier because we’ve added an ‘All Partners’ view. This view allows you to see and search for all partner types in one place, regardless of their specific type.

Logitude Accounting

  •       Support Payable/Receivable VAT Translation in QuickBooks

To enhance your tax choices in QuickBooks and ensure accurate tax management when transferring AP and AR invoices from Logitude, we’ve added separate tax mappings for payables and receivables.

  •       AR Generic Interface – Consolidated Invoice 

We’ve enhanced the Logitude Accounting interface for consolidated invoices by including individual constituent invoice details. This makes it easier for you to extract our XML and use it externally for your convenience.

  •       Reusable Manual Stocks for Canceled AR Invoices 

To make your invoicing process more flexible and efficient, when you cancel invoices marked as ‘Draft,’ the system will now free up the previously used ‘Stock’ invoice numbers for future use- only for Manual Stock management.

New Variables in Reports and Documents

  1.     Added “IssuedByUserEmail” for AP and AR payment docs, and “BranchName” for AR payment docs.
  2.     Introduced “Vendor Country Name” and “Vendor Country Code” for AP including VAT report, along with “Bill to Country Name” and “Bill to            Country Code” for AR  including VAT report.
  3.     Included variables for “Invoice Total VAT Amount,” “Total Expense Amount,” and “Total Non-Expense Amount” in invoice currency for the              Detailed Shipment Charges Analysis Report. 
  4.     A new variable for “Project #” is now available for use in AWB and HAWB documents.
  5.     Shipper EORI, Consignee EORI, and Agent VAT are now available for use in AWB and HAWB documents.
  6.     The Last Delivery ETA and ATA variables are now available in the Pre-Alert Document.

New Features

Container Visibility: Our Newest Container Management Feature

Logitude’s container tracking module automatically receives accurate live data from ocean carriers using intermediary partners and generates relevant container data within Logitude, saving you time and eliminating the need to manually enter data. Based on a special intelligent mechanism, it automatically updates shipment information relating to the containers, including detecting exception behavior, so that you always have the most current information.

  • Powerful workspace with predefined views and graphs
  • Shipment dates are updated from container data to eliminate manual Data collection.
  • Notifications and alerts using the automation module: Stay alert for any exceptions.
  • Predefined BI reports and a reachable Data Warehouse.
  • Avoid demurrage or detention by managing the free days. 

Dashboard

This new dashboard feature in Logitude is a game-changer for managers! It helps you organize your data neatly so it’s easy to understand. And you get to spot important trends, keep an eye on how things are going, and make decisions based on actual data: about shipment, quotes, and opportunities related to your customers, users, or partners. It’s all about making your job easier and more effective!

Digital Portal

Logitude’s built-in and branded web portal module reduces the workload of your team, saves you time and effort, and provides your customers with real-time data on their shipments and invoices. And they can access it from a desktop or mobile device. 

Please note that starting from this release, the old “Shared Logistics” solution will not be available. Please share with your customers the new Branded link.

  • Self-Service Activation 

You can now activate the digital portal and invite customers to the digital portal to start using it without the need to contact customer care. This can be done by activating a digital portal and activating web access from the digital portal settings. 

  • Container Tracking  

Once you activate the container tracking module, you will be able to allow your own customers to track their containers through the digital portal platform. The container status can be tracked in the shipment details under the equipment information tab.

Your customers can keep track of certain dates related to their containers. These include the date the container is unloaded, the days left for free use, and the date by which it should be returned empty. By keeping an eye on these dates, they can act quickly and avoid any extra costs for delays or overstaying, like demurrage and detention fees.

  • Quotes Tracking

Your customers can easily view quotes and track their status within the platform. This addition enhances the platform’s functionality, allowing your customers to effortlessly access and keep tabs on important quotes.

  • Upload Documents from the Digital Portal, a self-service tool used by your customers.

This enhancement helps you and your customers share documents without the need to send emails. Your customers who use the Digital Portal can now upload their shipment documents from the Digital Portal; these documents will be uploaded to the relevant shipment’s “Docs in” tab on the Logitude side, and you can approve their documents directly. 

Sales Tariffs: Local Charges

What Logitude does is let you set the prices you want to charge your customers depending on their levels and how special they are to you. By using a VIP Customers group, you can offer special prices to your VIP customers

Available for Import/Export air and ocean FCL/LCL shipments, you can define a fixed price or it depends on the agent abroad or Incoterms. Additionally, you can generate local prices and quotes for your shipments.

Enhanced Features 

User Experience Improvements

  • Views Improvements 

Logitude Views Engine is a very strong and useful feature. To allow more quick actions to search, check, and manage the views per user, we’ve enhanced our views infrastructure, starting with the Containers views:

  1. You can add many more columns to your view.
  2. Many filters were added to the container views. 
  3. More operators can be added to the several filter types.
  4. Performance enhancements over the container view.
  • Documents Drag and Drop

To help you do your work easily and quickly, we have developed new features such as document drag and drop. You can now upload documents to your Docs-in simply by dragging and dropping them. This will help you insert any type of document you want, and in a single action, you will see your files uploaded successfully. 

Quotes and Pricing

  • New Unit of Measurements

In addition to the existing measurements, you were using in charges like Fixed, Chargeable Weight, etc., new measurements are added to charge your customers based on the number of days, hours, documents, loads, and filings. For example, you can charge a customer for Yard storage for an amount Per Day. 

  • Specify the Percent of Freight per Container in the Quotation 

We have made things a bit more specific for prices related to charge types that are based on the percent of freight. We improved the quotation to show the prices for each container separately. Like the Fuel Charge, it will show the prices of each container according to the percentage of freight to make things clearer for you and your customers. 

Allow Re-Using AWB Numbers After a Year

You can now use AWB (Air Waybill) numbers again for shipments if the last time they used that number was more than a year ago.

Backup of Printed/Uploaded Documents

Now you can back up all your printed or uploaded documents. So, no need to worry! All your work is safe and sound, ready to be accessed whenever you need it.

QuickBox Integration – Improvements

  • Resend Canceled and Reapproved Transactions to QuickBooks (QB)
    You can now resend canceled and reapproved AP Invoices, AP Payments, and AR Payments to QB, ensuring accurate synchronization between the two systems.
  • QuickBooks Bank Selection in Bank Account Translation
    You can select QuickBooks banks directly within the accounting translation. This streamlines the process, saves time, and reduces the risk of errors. 

Logitude Accounting Interfaces

To be able to use your accounting records in other software, Logitude gives you the XMLs that you need using our interface.

The following new enhancements were added to our different Interfaces:

  • Adding Created By, Print Notes, and Branch fields to the AP Payment XML.
  • Adding Created By, Custom Fields, Print Notes, Branch, Bank Currency & Accounting External ID fields to the AR Payment XML.
  • Adding the custom fields under the Invoice tag for the AP & AR Invoices Generic or Advanced Generic interface.
  • Adding the custom fields for the Consolidated Invoice XML. 

New Opportunity Fields

Now you can use the CRM module to keep tabs on and predict the planned financial impact of sales opportunities in the pipeline. New fields added for revenue and profit can help the sales team and management make smart decisions. You can prioritize deals better and keep an eye on profits

Enhanced Features

Automation

Streamline your tasks and ensure that important actions are carried out without any manual effort.

With Logitude’s Automation Module, you can set up automatic actions based on specific conditions. These predefined actions, known as “Automation,” are triggered by events. For example, when you create a new direct shipment, you can specify that an arrival notice document follow-up should be generated or an email should be sent to a specific user or contact automatically.

Shipments 

  • Searching by Trailer Number

To help you better find and organize your inland shipments, now you can search by the “Trailer Number” for this specific shipment.

  • Pre/On Carriage Legs in Master & Pre/On Forwarding in Shipment

To manage shipment routes more and cover all possibilities, we’ve added the ‘Pre Carriage’ and ‘On Carriage” legs to the Master shipment level. 

This will help you better manage more legs of the shipment for improved tracking and tracing.

BI Reports

For you to have a better experience in reporting, decision-making, and analyzing the measurable aspects of your business, we are constantly improving the BI Reports Module to help you access the data in the Logitude Data Warehouse (DW) or Private DWH .

Mexican Market – SAT Interface

Addenda node as additional information

Logitude has simplified things for you by including the expense charges in the invoice XML as additional information called “Addenda.” This means you can easily see the expense charge details separately from the main Concepto nodes, and you have the flexibility to decide whether to include them when sending the invoice to SAT or not.

Give the option not to transfer to SAT but still can be shared with customers 

QuickBooks Integration

Logitude’s Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable modules are fully integrated with QuickBooks for efficient transfer of invoice data. The recent improvements are:

  • Support for bank account translation for AP for AR Payments. 
  • Add TaxCodeRef Tag for Multiple Shipments in AP Invoice transfer.

New Features

ICS2 Compliance 

The European Union is implementing a new customs pre-arrival security and safety program, underpinned by a large-scale advanced cargo information system – Import Control System 2 (ICS2).

Due to this new regulation, certain pieces of information will become required to send to the carriers through the FWB and FHL messages for shipments moving through or going to the EU.

Logitude gives you access to fill all the required fields through the AWB wizard, as well as making the Main Harmonize code (HS Code) required for FWBs or FHLs for shipments moving through or going to the EU.

Customer Digital Portal 

The Customer Digital Portal is a new, branded, and dedicated web portal module that provides your customers with real-time digital visibility of their shipments and invoices. By the end of April 2023, the new digital portal will replace the exciting solution “Shared Logistics for Customers”.

Giving your customers direct access to their data will help you as much as it helps them. They can get quick updates without delays while also getting direct answers to their questions. This will help both you and your customers avoid errors. Your customers can access it from a desktop, mobile device, or tablet; it’s simple to use and manage.

Self-service by the customer: Upload shipments documents 

Your customers who use the Digital Portal can now upload their shipment documents from the Digital Portal; these documents will be uploaded to the relevant shipment’s “Docs in” tab on the Logitude side. To approve these documents and proceed with the relevant parties, you can access these documents from this newly added tab from “Shipment Queries” > “Others” > “Pending Approval Documents”. This new enhancement will help you and your customers share documents without the need to send emails.

View the Digital Portal as a customer 

To make it easier for you to support and follow your customers’ shipments, Logitude gives you access to view what your customer sees on the Digital Portal and what type of information they can see without requiring you to login.

Supporting Multi Unites

Customers who use multiple units of measurement are no longer a concern; the Customer Digital Portal now displays volumes and weights in CBM and CBF, as well as KG and LB. The Digital Portal settings in Logitude allow you to choose whether values are shown in multiple units or only in KG/CBM.

New tabs to Digital Portal Shipments` List 

Digital portal users can now see the shipments by their stages, we added three queries to the digital portal shipments list to represent shipments stages:

  • In Origin: All shipments that are in origin and have not departed yet
  • In transit: All shipments that departed the origin but have not arrived at the destination.
  • At destination: All shipments that arrived at the destination.

Note: You can access shipments listed under the new queries manually. These shipments should not be marked as “accounting closed” or “operational closed”, otherwise they will be listed under the “all shipments” query.

USA Market 

Cross Dock Automation

To give you more control over the Cross Dock Module, and to enable the process of sending emails automatically if the entry or the release met the conditions, Logitude recently improved the automation module to allow you to specify automatic outcomes from Cross Dock Entries and Releases.

You can define automatic email results from the cross docks entity by using this feature. And with this option, emails can be sent to the partner when the conditions are met.

Mexican Market

As published by the Mexican Tax Administration Service (SAT), it is decided to delay the entry of CFDI Payroll 4.0, which was scheduled for January 1, 2023, until April 1, 2023. This extension allows taxpayers who issue electronic invoices to meet all of the requirements set forth in the tax provisions for the issuance of the CDFI in version 4.0.

Logitude is ready for the new version and still improving more to make it easy to deal with the new version.

Transfer Expense Charges based on parameter 

Managing the information of the “Acuenta de Terceros” by the payable vendor for each Expense charge can be defined based on parameters, so you have control over sending the expense charges with the “Acuenta de Terceros” details to SAT or not.

Enhanced Features

Automations Module Enhancements

Use the Automation Module to define entity-related actions that should be performed automatically when a condition is met. We call these definitions: “Automations”.

For example, you can define that when a new direct shipment is created (the condition), an arrival notice document follow-up should be created or an email should be automatically sent to a certain user or contact (the result action).

Shipment Automation

For you to be able to trigger the shipments based on the main carriage details, we added the following fields to the shipment and master automation:

  • Main Carriage / From Port / To Port
  • Transshipment 1 ETA / ATA / ETD / ATD / From Port/ To Port
  • Transshipment 2 ETA / ATA / ETD / ATD / From Port/ To Port
  • Transshipment 3  ETA / ATA / ETD / ATD / From Port/ To Port

Event Creation Via Automation

A new option to add events automatically to the shipment is now available to keep your shipment’s events up-to-date without having to worry about adding them manually. This option will be available for use one week after this release.

Added Bank Details to Accounting Interfaces

For generic and advanced generic transfers of payments, the bank details will now be included in the generated XML files.

Added “Updated by Username” to Daily Exchange Rates

In the daily exchange rates screen, we added a new column to show the user that edited the exchange rate as well as when they made the change.

Unpaid Invoices Report – Update to Filter Logic

You can now generate the “Unpaid Invoices” report without the “from date filter” being required.

Improvements in BI Reports

For you to have a better experience in reporting, decision-making, and analyzing the measurable aspects of your business, we are constantly improving the BI Reports Module to help you access the data in the Logitude Data Warehouse (DW).

The following changes have been made to the BI reports and will go live one week after the release.

Shipment Profit

You can now create a report that includes the Estimated Profit of your shipment compared with the Actual Profit.

Total Section in the PDF files

Logitude has improved the PDF files that can be downloaded or sent from BI reports to include totals for all number columns, allowing you to easily see totals without having to perform extra calculations for each report.

Change Font Size in the Edit Document 

Logitude has improved the Edit document option to give you the option to change the font size for a specific section without affecting the whole document. This will help you control the size in some areas, like changing the font of the customers/ shippers, or consignees if their names are long, without affecting the whole document.

Views Enhancements 

Through Logitude Views, you can visualize the data and have control over the columns and filters that you need, in addition to the option of extracting the data and using it.

Improve the “Download to Excel” Performance 

We improved the performance of the “Download to Excel” action to help you quickly extract huge amounts of data into Excel.

Columns Alignment

We adjusted the alignment of the “Numbers” columns to enhance their look when there is another text column besides them. We added more space to make it easier to view and read.

Quotes Enhancements

Add Quotes Filters to Quotes Queries 

Quote queries now have filters that allow you to filter based on salesman records or created by records.

Grouping Quotes Charge Lines Totals by Currencies

Quotes with charge lines in different currencies can be printed in a quotation by grouping totals, VAT amount, VAT percentage, and totals by currency.

The quotation module now has four new fields that group charge lines by currency; the four fields are:

  • Subtotal: The sum of the sale amounts for the quote charge lines in the relevant currency.
  • VAT: The sum of VAT amounts for each charge line of the relevant currency.
  • VAT Percentage: Shows VAT percentage for each line for the relevant currency
  • Total: The sum of Subtotal and VAT of the relevant currency row.

Editing the sale exchange rate in Multi Currency mode 

You can now edit the “Sales Exchange Rate” in the quote charges inside the box of “Sales Currency”, same as the “Sales Exchange Rate”.

The following Airlines are available to be added from the general library using Maintenance > Airlines > Add  > Choose the new airlines from the available list.

All the updates that you receive in Logitude based on your connection with your partners: Airlines, Carriers, Truckers, Customs, and Warehouses can be shared with your customers.

Giving your customers direct access to their data will help you as much as it helps them. They can get quick updates without delays while also getting direct answers to their questions. This will help both you and your customers avoid errors. Your customers can access it from a desktop, mobile device, or tablet; it’s simple to use and manage.

USA Market

  1. Updated Ports & Terminals Lists

As part of our continuing plan of development and enhancements, we updated the list of United States ports with the correct state. So when you add a new US port, you can see which state it is in.

The lists of terminals and firms’ codes have been updated in Logitude.

  1. Cross Dock Module (not only used by USA market)

The Cross Dock Module can be used to manage the entry of the cargoes that arrive at your warehouse and then manage the process of releasing these cargoes from the warehouse. This module can be used for export, import shipment, or not connected to any shipment.

Logitude has improved the Export Process, and new features were added regarding the Cross Dock.

  1. UOM in Printed Documents

Because the units of measurement used in the United States are pounds and inches, but kilograms and centimeters are used worldwide, we prepared new infrastructure that allows you to create documents using both UOM types in addition to the existing documents and messages

For the standard documents in the system, you can choose the new USA templates that include these values:

  • Authority to Make Entry
  • Ocean Manifest
  • Release Bill of Lading
  1. CARICOM Document

Logitude has supported the CARICOM (Caribbean Common Market) invoice that is used when exporting goods from the U.S. to one of the 15 Caribbean countries that belong to the Caribbean Community and Common Market trade agreement.

This addition allows you to view all the supplier invoices that are related to your packages with other receivables.

You can implement that by using the package items for each package, as shown in the screenshot below:

Mexican Market

As published by the Mexican Tax Administration Service (SAT) on its website, the first early version of the second resolution of modifications to the RMF for the year 2022 was extended to March 31st, 2023, for taxpayers who chose to continue issuing CFDIs under version 3.3, as well as withholding and payment CFDIs under version 1.0.

Logitude has developed all of the requirements needed for the new version. This release includes :

1- Payment Multi Currency

A payment can complete many invoices in different currencies, so all payments made in Mexico can be sent to SAT with the invoices that were closed in other currencies.

2- SAT Waiting for Cancellation Queries

To keep the SAT status of invoices up-to-date, Logitude provides you with a new query that displays all invoices that have not yet had their status updated.

Also, by clicking on “Check SAT Status,” you can update the status from the invoice level.

3- Period of Consolidation Invoice

According to the new dispositions of SAT in Mexico, global invoices are made only when the operation will be with “público en general”, and only in this case, you need the period of the operation, for example, daily, weekly, biweekly, or monthly.

Based on that, the period of the consolidated invoice is not required anymore, and filling it will be done by you when the operation is with “público en general”.

4- Update AMANAC Ocean File

A minor update was made to AMANAC files in ocean shipments in order to help comply with the new requirements of electronic transmission for the National Customs Agency. A new column, “Referencia,” has been added and will be filled with a value of “.”.

Enhanced Features

1- Quotes Enhancements

  • Accept/Decline Notes Field

A new field was added to record the user’s decision to accept or decline the quote. This field allows you to search for and filter quotes by reason. The notes field can now be added as a column to a quote query, allowing you to see the closing notes from the query view.

  • Quotation with VAT

In case you need to print in the quotation the calculated tax amount and the total amount per charge type, we updated the quotation tool so you can decide per template what columns for pricing you want to choose.

2- Automations Module Enhancements

The Automations Module can be used to define entity-related actions that should be executed automatically when triggered by a condition. These definitions are called “Automations”. For example, you can define that, upon the creation of a new direct shipment (the condition), an arrival notice document follow-up should be created or an email should be sent to a certain user or contact automatically (the result action).

 AR Invoice Automation 

“Is Constituent” and “Is Consolidation” are new fields that were added to the conditions in the AR Invoice Automation so you can run the automation in the cases of the Constituent and Consolidation invoices.

3- Creating A/P Payments from inside the AP Invoice

Working with agents, you usually work with statements and multiple AP invoice payments. But sometimes, or with other partners, you would like to prepare the payment right from the AP invoice, print it, and give it to your vendor.

In order to make the entire payables process much smoother, you can now create a new A/P payment directly from inside the AP invoice. Once inside an approved invoice, you can navigate to the Payments tab and create a new payment directly. Working with Agents you usually work with Statements and multi AP Invoice payments. But sometimes, or with other partners, you would like to prepare the payment right from the AP Invoice, print and give to your Vendor

 You can now create a new A/P payment directly from inside the A/P Invoice. Once inside an approved Invoice, you can navigate to the Payments tab and create a new payment directly. This will make the entire payables process much smoother. 

4- Improvements in BI Reports

The BI Reports Module helps you query the data in the Logitude Data Warehouse (DW), for reporting, decision-making, and analyzing the measurable aspects of your business.

The following new fields are now available to be added to your BI reports:

  1. Pre Carriage/In Carriage details in houses: You may now create a shipment report that includes the entire routing of the house shipments, including the Pre Carriage and On Carriage legs. Using the shipment fact, you can see the shipment movements and stops for Pre Carriage and On Carriage legs.
  2. Declaration Number: The shipment Declaration Number can be added to the Reports based on the AR Invoice fact.

5- New Variables in Reports and Documents

  • New Invoice Layout
  • Combined Transport Bill of Lading

Container loads are no different than others, but there are some characteristics for specific deliveries. Containerization is a common practice, with wide application and many advantages. Earlier use of containers began with larger carriers, hence the great development of this process. 

What is meant by containerization?

Generally speaking, containerization is the process of transporting goods that have similar shapes and sizes. Thus, they are assembled in one delivery, which is then distributed to end users. In practice, there are almost no restrictions that require the storage of goods in a container. Container rental is safe and can greatly facilitate the transportation of goods. This is because exporters do not have to visit the seaport to export goods, which takes time. 

Containerization allows goods to be sent to the internal container depot or so-called container freight station and from there to be sent to the destination. 

In 1993, the Law on Multimodal Freight Transport was adopted, thanks to which it is possible to transport goods with containers. This law is still applicable today. 

To further clarify the process of containerization, let’s see what activities it involves: 

  • Packaging of containers, which is done not on the pier, but at the place where the goods are produced.
  • Use of coastal cranes to lift containers from and onto the ship.
  • Moving containers to the port by truck or rail.

Benefits and Advantages of Containerization

Containerization offers exceptional benefits and advantages for developers and development teams. Among them are the following:

  • Portability – the container creates an executable software package, but it is portable and not tied to the host operating system. This way it can work very consistently and evenly in the cloud and on any chosen platform. 
  • Reduce costs – containers often share the core of the machine’s OS, which is associated with additional costs. This achieves higher server efficiency while reducing additional licensing costs and speeding up start-up times. 
  • Security – the use of containers, in practice, manages to prevent the intrusion of breakdown codes in the system or in order to seize other containers. Security is at a very high level also in terms of the fact that security permits can be defined to block the entry of unwanted goods into containers. It also allows for restrictions on communications with unnecessary resources.
  • Efficiency – the system serving the container environments can work very efficiently if it is tailored to the needs and the way the containers work. For example, software shares the core of a machine’s operating system. In this way, sharing between containers can take place. 
  • Easy managementthe platform that manages containerization automates the process of installation, scaling, and management of activities and services related to the transport of goods in containers. Such a platform can greatly facilitate a number of tasks, such as management such as scaling container applications, logging and debugging, launching new versions of applications providing monitoring, and more.
  • Error reduction – each container management application is isolated and works independently of the others. In this way, the occurrence of one container in malfunction will not lead to the interruption of the others in the chain.

What are container freight stations (CFS)?

Container freight stations perform very important functions in any supply chain that relates to internal point intermodal (IPI) loads. The main advantage of the stations is that they are designed to help with logistics. 

The most frequent customers of these companies are freight forwarders. In general, however, the container freight forwarding service can be used not only by freight forwarders but also by logistics service providers, as well as third parties wishing to transport freight to the end user (customer). 

For greater convenience, container freight stations are situated rationally – close to ports and large inland distribution cities.

  • Consolidation of LCL shipments into a larger container.
  • Transfer of IPI containers with smaller capacity to larger ones, thus saving significant transportation costs and exercising greater inventory control.

  • Ensuring control and better organization in the implementation of internal freight movements of freight forwarders.
  • Providing an option to defer payments that the sender owes for duties and taxes. They will be due when the product is sold to a customer or started to be used in the production process.
  • Stations provide very valuable information, recording each shipment, and names of importers, exporters, and customs agents. In addition, the origin of each product and destination and other cargo data are known. 

Containers are a real revolution today. About 90% of the goods produced are already transported by sea through containers. This widespread practice is extremely successful and cost-effective for manufacturers, carriers, and end users.

Logitude World provides the first true online freight forwarding software solution. It combines the power of cloud computing and modern technologies with a deep understanding of the Freight Forwarding Industry.

Since Logitude’s SaaS solution is rich in software modules, Release Notes are regularly issued to keep users up-to-date about new features and enhancements, as well as changes that were made since the previous release.

This version of the Release Notes introduces new features and functionalities, and describes existing features that were enhanced.

Enhanced Features

Improvements in BI Reports (available for the Business Package)

The following improvements in BI reports will be available two weeks after the version release.

Upload a Standard Report

A new button – Upload a Standard Report, has been added to the main page of the BI Reports so that you can retrieve system-designed BI reports into your environment. The New BI Report button is used to build new reports from scratch.

Download BI Reports to PDF 

In addition to the option of downloading BI reports to Excel, it is now possible to download them to a PDF file designed with your logo, company name, page number and more details. This option – PDF File, is available from the Download menu in report preview mode.

New Fields in BI Reports 

New routing, money and operational details are now available for adding to your BI reportsConnected Quote shows the number of the quote connected to your shipment.

Permissions and Restrictions

View Only Shared Views

When creating a shared view (via the Shared tab in the Create New View window), the new View Only option can be activated so that the users will not be allowed to change the query filters.

Automation Improvements

Sending Documents in Print Format

It is now possible to attach Print-format documents (PDF) to email results in automations. A document can be chosen only after it has been built and printed.

Delayed Automation Based on Variable Date and Time Fields

The delayed email result option has been further extended and it can now be set off before or after a variable date-time field. For example, send follow up to the creators of import shipments specific days and hours prior to the ETA to remind them to file documents like Commercial Invoice.

Paid Date in AP Invoices Automation

The Paid Date field has been added to the AP Invoice conditions for defining an automation that checks the paid date of the AP invoice.

Currency Rate Updates – Quick Accessibility 

The Currencies Rates link has been added to the top right corner of the workspace to provide quick access to exchange rates. Via this link users can view, edit and track currency rates from any module and entity in the system, without having to navigate to this option via Settings or Maintenance.

Shipment Adjustments

Pre/On-Carriage Carrier 

Users can choose any carrier in the pre/on-carriage legs despite the chosen transport mode for that leg.

MAWB Repetition

From now on, if a MAWB is repeated, Logitude users can manage it in a new shipment without having to erase the number from the old shipment it was used in. Please note that this is allowed only if the previous shipment that used the number is older than one year. 

Connected Quote Column

A new query column – Connected Quote, has been added to the available fields in Shipment views. It shows the number of the quote that is connected to the shipment.

Pickup/Delivery Events Adjustment

The shipment status will not be changed in the case of multiple pickups/deliveries, until all the pickups/deliveries arrive.

Incoterm Updated Event

Users will be able to track incoterm changes via a new event that will be added automatically each time the Incoterm field is updated.

Import Storage Fee Adjustments 

A new button has been added to the warehouse leg to enable the calculation of storage fees based on the expected date of release.

Inland Shipment Type Conversion 

A new action has been added to Inland transportation, to enable users to convert inland shipments from FTL to LTL and vice versa.

Updated List of Airlines for e-AWB 

The list of airlines to which Logitude can transmit your AWBs has been updated. To check the airlines you can connect with via the e-AWB module, navigate to the e-AWB page on our website or contact us at info@logitudeworld.com.

Shipment API Adjustments 

The following adjustments have been introduced to shipment APIs: 

  • All partners sent in the API will be added to the shipment with their primary contact and main address.
  • Receivables and payables can better handle charges whose UOM is percentage of freight.

Quote Adjustments

Quote Multi-Currency

The Multi-Currency mode has been added to the Sale Currency options in a quote. In the same way that the sale currency is defined as “Same as Cost”, it can now be defined as “Multi-Currency” so that different currencies can be used for cost and sale on the same line, for charges.

Accounting Improvements

AP Invoice Paid Date

The Paid Date column was added to AP Invoices queries to indicate the paid date of each invoice.

Zero AP Invoices 

On approval of any AP invoice whose total amount is 0, the amount will be automatically saved as ‘Paid’ without having to connect it to a payment.

Search Invoices/Payments Notes 

Users can now search for an invoice/payment using its internal notes.

Generic Interface: Country Code

The country code of partners was added to the generic interface next to the country name, for all entities.

Accounting Setting Permission

New custom roles can be created that do not include the option to edit the account settings.

Charge Types VAT

The Charge Types list of values was updated to show the VAT type in addition to the existing fields in the list.

Mexican Market – SAT-Profact Interface Improvements

Exchange Rate Validation

A warning message will be issued while sending receivable invoices to SAT via Profact, to notify users of exchange rates that are not up-to-date. Users can then update the exchange rate so that invoices are sent with the current rate.

Void Invoices Excluded from SAT Failed Queries

Invoices and Payments that have failed the transmission to SAT for any reason will be removed from the SAT Failed Invoices and SAT Failed Payments queries, as soon as they get voided. The system will automatically change their statuses to No Transfer Needed.

AMANAC Ocean Mapping 

AMANAC Ocean mapping was enhanced to include more fields. The existing mappings were revised to send the accurate data needed for the Mexican customs.

Performance – Improved Search Mechanism in Customer Queries

This version of the Release Notes introduces new features and functionalities, and describes existing features that were enhanced.

New Features

BI Reports: Master and Master Charges Facts

The BI Reports module which helps you query data from the Logitude DWH, will now allow you to create reports based on master shipments and master receivable and payable charges. The pilot phase of the BI Reports Master and Master Charges features will be available two weeks after the release.

Private Central Data Warehousing 

Logitude now comes with a Private Data Warehousing (DWH) feature that allows admission to a central database containing the data from all of your company’s offices (managed in separate Logitude tenants). This makes it possible to connect to any external Business Intelligence (BI) software and generate reports based on all of your data.

AP Invoices Automation 

The Automation mechanism has recently been extended to allow users to define automatic email results from the Payable Invoices (AP) entity. With this option, emails can be sent to advise users internally that the invoice was saved, approved or that it needs to be paid.

All Automation definitions can be found in the Maintenance | Automation screen.

Default Attachments to Messages

While sending messages, the system can now display a default list of document attachments. The default attachments for a document type are defined using the Select Default Attachments option in the message template (Maintenance Menu | Others | Document Types).

Shared Documents Link in Messages to Customers

The new View Shared Documents data field can be added to message templates in order to generate a link for customers to view the shared documents without having to log in to Shared Logistics. The documents will be displayed according to permissions defined in Shared Logistics.

Enhanced Features

Quotation Enhancements

Quotation and Mail Templates: Font Type and Size

In quotations as well as in all other mail templates, it is no longer necessary to select text in order to see its font type and size – the editor toolbar has been adjusted to show these details currently.

Automation Improvements

Shipments Entity in AR Invoices Automation

While creating an AR Invoices automation, it is now possible to define conditions based on field values from the Shipment entity. 

Delayed Automation Based on Variable Dates

The delayed email result option has been extended and it can now be set off before or after a variable date. For example, an email can be sent to a bill to partner when their invoice due date ‘is 2 days before today’. 

Accounting Improvements 

AP Invoice: Total VAT only 

The new Enable Entering Total VAT parameter in the Accounts Payable (Advanced) section of Accounting Settings activates the Total VAT option for AP invoices. This option has been added to accommodate for cases where the vendor invoice does not specify a VAT per line – it lets users enter a single VAT amount for the invoice total instead of adding in-line VAT amounts.

Accounting Transfer: Multi-VAT

The Accounting Transfer mechanism has been improved to better process the VAT Types translations for invoices with multi-VAT types. 

INTTRA e-Booking Adjustments

As per the e2open EDI Validation Program

INTTRA by e2open is raising the standards of booking requests submitted to carriers.  Cargo Gross Weight and Contract/Tariff Number will be required in all EDI booking requests on the following dates:

  • Gross Weight validation activation: January 11,2021
  • Contract Number validation activation:  February 22, 2021

Modifications to the E-booking Process

The following modifications have been made to the INTTRA e-booking process:

  • Gross Weight is now a mandatory entry.
  • Contract# has been added to the shipment Order tab, as a mandatory entry.
  • Main Harmonize has been added to the shipment Order tab. This field will be mapped to INTTRA when no shipment packages have been entered and there are order packages.

New User Licenses 

In a multi-package environment, the relevant licenses can be assigned to each new user right after creating the user.

EORI Number Management 

The EORI Number (Economic Operators Registration and Identification number) field has been added to the General tab of the customer record, under the VAT Number.

ABM Interface Adjustments 

The VAT and EORI fields of the customers have been mapped to the ABM customs transmissions.

Shipment API: Pickup/Delivery Dates 

The Pickup and delivery dates have been added to the shipment APIs.

New Document Templates

The following document templates have been added to Logitude’s Document Library:

  • Spanish Arrival Notice: A new template for the Arrival Notice document in Spanish.
  • Spanish Pickup Note: A new template for the Pickup Note document in Spanish.
  • Spanish Delivery Note: A new template for the Delivery Note document in Spanish.
  • French Delivery Note: A new template for the Delivery Note document in French.
  • French AR Payment: A new template for the AR Payment document in French.
